Dear Seventh and Eighth Grade Parents,
As your student's homeroom teacher and educator, I am excited to experience the 2009-2010 school year with your child. As a homeroom we have already started out the year successfully. I look forward to seeing each student excel both academically and behaviorally as the new and wonderful school year unfolds.
As an educator I feel strongly about the need for students to feel that they are having fun when they are learning. I believe that as humans we remember what we like, and if we like what we are learning then we will remember much more. Through this type of learning we will often become much more engaged and interested in the subject. I prefer to plan my lessons based on this belief of fun learning.
A certain environment is required for this fun learning approach to teaching. Students must display traits such as teamwork, respect, and responsibility. So far we have done a good job of this as a Seventh/Eighth Grade homeroom. I look forward to the students continuing in this direction as learners so they have the best educational experience possible.
I feel very blessed to be able to teach so many wonderfully raised children who show me their appreciation by working in and out of class so diligently, respectfully and responsibly both individually and in teams. I look forward to working with each of you as parents, so that your student may achieve a magnificent educational experience this school year.
In His love,
Mrs. Batson
